This is how it should look!

This photo  and  the one below it were taken by professional photographer Adam Burton  http://www.adamburtonphotography.com/ He took a series of them in Summer of 2011 when the river was looking verdant and healthy.

 

A beautiful river supporting abundant wildlife and rich beds of abundant but sensitive ranunculus weed.

Now look at the photo above. This sad and lifeless looking one was taken by one of our group in August 2017 about a mile downstream from the beautiful scene at the top. A horrible scene which the environment Agency declined to attend as there were no dead fish or invertebrates present. The staff may want to help but their agency's policies prevent them from doing so.

We are going to be taking photos in the same locations as our bank of earlier photos at the same locations and same time of year as summer arrives. These will come on to the website as we get them.
